Set up a talk

#

Name the part of your life, such as health, work or relationships, and when:

I want a weekly health talk on Sundays at seven

It confirms when the first talk is and names two defaults, each changed with one sentence:

  • Style: review, ending with one change, for health, money and work. Compass, ending with one direction, for relationships and purpose.
  • Tone: gentle, unless you ask for direct.

A talk can also be daily, every two weeks or monthly. To talk right now, say let's do the health talk now.

What a talk looks like

#

It opens with "From your coach, your weekly health talk:", one thing it noticed and one question. When a decision forms, it says it back and asks if that is right. A new habit starts only on your yes.

On the one-line server, talks come in Telegram. On your own computer, Godspeed brings the talk up when you next write in the chat.

Talks open by themselves once your first goal has set up the routines. That goal also brings the weekly check-in, a talk about your goals on Sundays at 18:00.

Each talk is prepared the day before

#

At 03:00 on the day before a talk, the routine Coaching talk preparation gets it ready. It reads your goal and its research, your last talk, your notes and what changed, and checks the news on the web. Then it writes how the talk opens and a short card of what matters most. The talk then opens with that, and the card stays with the whole conversation. It contacts nobody and sends you nothing.

For talks with required research topics, source reading and a separate review must be recorded before Godspeed uses the preparation. Missing research or review keeps it from being treated as prepared.

If a talk could not be prepared, it opens as before, from what it reads at that moment. To get a talk ready now, for example after you changed its day, say:

prepare Sunday's weekly check-in

Change a talk

#
  • Move the work talk to Thursday
  • be more direct about money
  • pause the relationships talk

Say what a talk may look at

#
  • The health talk may also look at my sleep tracker
  • The health talk no longer needs my sleep tracker
  • The work talk may also look at my stretching habit
  • The health talk must never suggest buying anything

Always, without being told:

  • A health talk never diagnoses and never tells you to buy or book anything.
  • A money talk never moves money, buys or signs up for anything.
  • A relationships talk never contacts anyone for you, and raises romance only when you do.
