What it does alone, and what it asks first
What Godspeed does by itself, what always waits for your yes, and how a kind of step you allow goes ahead.
On this page
Godspeed reads, plans and prepares by itself. Anything that costs money or reaches another person in your name waits for your yes.
What it does by itself
#- It reads and writes the files in your mission control folder, which holds everything it knows.
- It reads public web pages for your goal research and your watches.
- It plans each day's steps and does the ones that change nothing outside your folder, such as a draft.
- When a piece of its daily work is to repair Godspeed's own programs or scheduled jobs, it may change their files on the computer they run on. It keeps a copy of each file first and never touches a password, an account or a payment.
- It reminds you of dates, checks in on Sundays and asks about your habits.
All of this uses your AI account, which costs money with an API key (How the daily work runs).
What always asks you first
#Every new mission control starts with rules that tell Godspeed never to spend your money, send anything in your name or delete more than you asked. It reads them before every job (Change its rules and instructions).
These kinds of step need your yes every time:
- spending, paying or buying
- sign-ups, subscriptions, bookings and cancellations
- ads and donations
- a first message to someone it never contacted before
- a bulk message
- anything on LinkedIn done by a program, which LinkedIn's own rules forbid
When you ask for one of these yourself, for example "book a table at Luigi's for Friday at seven", your request is that yes. Godspeed asks again only when what it found differs from what you asked for, such as another day or a price you did not mention.
The daily round's steps come as one numbered list a day (Approve, stop or allow a step). If you connected Gmail, it saves emails as drafts and you press Send yourself. On a server installed with the one-line command, it asks in Telegram before a risky command: answer / or /.
Allowing one kind of step
#For one goal, you can allow a kind of step that keeps coming back, such as answering comments under your videos. You allow it once, in your own words, with a limit per week.
- With notice: a step that reaches other people shows in the morning message and goes out at a set time unless you say stop. That message is your morning brief, or without one, the daily round's 05:30 message.
- Alone: a change to your own pages, files or accounts that reaches nobody can go ahead when ready. The daily round tells you what it did, and a morning brief lists it the next day.
Rules and locks
#Three limits are locked into its tools:
- The kinds of step listed above can never be allowed in advance.
- The email tool has no way to send mail.
- A planned step that sends, spends, posts or signs up is held until your yes, for that step or its kind, is written on it.
Everything else rests on the rules it reads, including that it uses these tools for such steps and that the nightly research only reads. Hermes, the program that runs your assistant, cannot be locked to a fixed list of tools.
