# Tell it about yourself

Canonical: https://godspeedmissioncontrol.com/guide/tell-it-about-you

Godspeed gets to know you in a chat of about five minutes. It asks three things, one at a time, and you can skip any of them.

## Start the getting-to-know-you chat

1. Open the chat in your notebook, or Telegram on a server installed with the one-line command.
2. Send the word `context` on its own, without a slash (`/context` is a different command in Telegram). The chat begins.

While the **Dashboard** still shows the card **Tell Godspeed about you, about five minutes**, its **Start now** button does the same.

If you finished this chat before, Godspeed does not ask again: tell it what is new in your own words, or change [what it knows](#see-what-it-knows-about-you) yourself.

## Answer its three questions

1. **Where you live.** It uses your city only for your time zone. If your computer told it already, it names the city it uses: correct it if that is wrong.
2. **A little about you.** Reply with a number, or tell it about yourself in your own words:
   1. Send a file about you. The chat names one from the book *Teach It Once*, but any text works.
   2. Let ChatGPT or Claude write it. Godspeed gives you a message to copy into that app; correct its answer there and paste it back.
   3. Answer five short questions, then confirm a short summary.
   4. Not now.
3. **What you want help with first.** Your answer becomes your first goal ([Give it your first goal](/guide/first-goal)).

Say "skip" to move to the next question, or "stop" to end the chat.

## See what it knows about you

1. Open **Godspeed's brain** in the sidebar, under **System**.
2. Click **What it knows** at the top. You see **About me**, **My people**, **My projects and priorities** and **My voice**.
3. Open one. Its text opens ready to change: change what you like and click **Save**.

Godspeed reads **About me** before it helps you with anything. Every change keeps the earlier version ([Undo a change](/guide/change-its-rules#undo-a-change)).

## Fill in My Profile

My Profile holds optional details about you, in categories such as Identity & Basics. Godspeed looks them up when a question needs them, and AI apps you connect to your notebook receive them.

1. Open **My Profile** in the sidebar, under **System**.
2. On the **Profile** tab, fill in what you like. **Suggest entries from my notes** proposes facts it found in your notes.
3. To hand your profile to another AI tool, open **Export & Share**. Pick a profile view, such as Professional or Personal, and click **Copy to clipboard** or **Download as .txt**.
